I hate ear plugs. I’ve tried all kinds from the cheap foam earplugs to expensive custom molded earplugs. I use earplugs to block out noise while I’m sleeping. I’m a side and stomach sleeper and I toss and turn all night long.
The problem with every ear plug I’ve tried is I hate the pressure build up in my ears. When I turn on my side the pressure from my pillow against the ear plug is painful too. I’ve tried to cut the cheap expandable foam ear plugs in half to relieve pressure from inside my ear but nothing works. For me, wearing ear plugs are too painful, both inside of my ear and when laying on my side on my pillow.
I have never been able to get through the night wearing ear plugs… until now. I was shocked. Though I am 6′ tall, I have small ear canals. Every ear plug I’ve tried is way too big. On my first night of sleep, I tried the Loop Quiet 2 Ear Plugs with the size small tips. Though there is always a bit of pressure when things are stuffed in your ears, for the first time in my life, I was able to sleep comfortably wearing these ear plugs on the first night. Then I tried the extra small and medium size ear plugs to test whether or not the small size was the perfect fit for me. The extra small did not create a good enough seal and the pressure from the medium size tips was unbearable, as has been my experience with other ear plugs.
Switching tips was easy and the ergonomics are excellent, very well designed and easy to insert and remove from my ears. I’m now getting used to wearing the Loop Quiet 2s every night. There’s a bit pressure inside of my ears caused by these plugs and, when I lay on my side, my pillow pushes against these plugs too but it’s bearable. I’m amazed.
So why do I give the Loop Quiet 2 Ear Plugs four out of five stars? The “Quiet” part in the name isn’t very “quiet.” These ear plugs make ambient noise “quieter” but not quiet. I get a good seal with these ear plugs but I still hear everything, from the compressor of my air conditioner, to a car passing by on the road with closed windows, to my breathing. I highly doubt the 24db noise reduction claim. My guess is that there’s more likely a 10 – 15db noise reduction. Still, the performance of these ear plugs are impressive enough to hush out enough noise to make them worth wearing.
If there is a way for Loop to come out with Version 3.0 that’s even quieter without causing any discomfort whatsoever, they’ll have a home run. As of now, the Loop Quiet 2 Ear Plugs are highly recommended.

I might be in love! The fit is perfect, carry case convenient, comfort top tier. I wear ear plugs every single night and have high end concert plugs. These are unparalleled for comfort and the optional noise settings are definitely noticeable. Excited to see how the next few days go and Ill review on tiktok after ** update. I had the single best night of sleep Ive had in AGES! If these continue to be this good, ill be buying more

For some reason these don’t fit in my ear as well as the loop sleeping plugs do. They almost fell out of my ear at one point, I even switched to a bigger ear plug size and it still was falling out. Then the next size up was too big smh, I felt like Goldy Locks trying to find the right fit lol
Other than the fit issue, they are comfortable to wear for daily use. They function as described with different levels of sound filtering. I wear these when I take exams so I can concentrate. They are pretty awesome overall

My daughter is autistic and noise is a huge factor for her. This allows her to be in noisy environments and still be able to hear conversations with others without all the extra extraneous sounds.

I used to have a pair of the quiet loops but now that im a parent and need to be able to hear what’s happening around me I upgraded to the engage loops. So far I’ve really loved them and the color and fit. I carry them with me everywhere now.
I will say its good to know if you aren’t thinking or expecting it that hearing yourself speak with them in can take a second to get used to. I have really small ears and these fit well (I had to use the xs cushion for them to fit)

The Loop Engage 2 Earplugs are extremely well designed earplugs that come with the promise of blocking most background noise and letting speech through effortlessly. They mostly accomplish this.
First, while wearing these earplugs I could absolutely still hear and understand everyday speech. Everything came through nearly clear. I wouldn’t recommend these for people with any sort of hearing difficulty because they may render speech completely inaudible, but they worked fine for me in this capacity, and I have normal hearing. I hope.
Second, they promise to cut out background noise up to 16dB. I have nothing reliable to measure how strong sounds are, so I’m just going to have to play this part by ear (heh). They definitely reduce background noises, but they don’t eliminate them, and for certain noises they don’t come close. Examples to follow:
My neighbor is currently mowing his yard. I put these in and I can no longer hear the sound of his mower.
With the earplugs in, I can hear the sounds of my keyboard taptaptapping as I write this review.
My home air conditioner system is running. This sound has been completely eliminated.
I have a window unit air conditioner to work in tandem with the home system. It’s still coming in loud and clear.
I’m still listening to music and it’s slightly muffled.
As far as their design — I’ve said it before in this review, and I’ll say it again because it merits repeating. These are some excellently designed earplugs. I’m wearing the clear model. People don’t know I’m wearing them. I have to show them to people. They fit in the case wonderfully, and if they don’t fit your ear, no worries, there’s a replaceable tip that most likely WILL fit included.
I will say as a precaution, if you’re having any ringing in your ears, be careful or consult your doctor before using this item. You don’t want to add any undue pressure to your eardrum.
So I like these earplugs. I don’t think they’re PERFECT. But they’re pretty good at removing irritating noises from your life, so high marks from me.
